The OC Magnetic Perpetual Motion Machine (WhipMag) Overview
A Couple of guys over at Steorn forums (overconfident the inventor and
alsetalokin who built the Rig) have came up with an cool little Rig, so
going to try and Replicate it.
PLEASE NOTE These guys are NOT claiming
this is OU or creating Free Energy.
Overconfident came up with the design below and Alsetalokin
set out to replicate it and a picture of his rig is further down the page.
What came next was Alsetalokin dropped the Rig down to 3 stator magnets and
found a weird effect while playing around. You can see this effect in the video
links further down this page.
The video is not great lighting but it does show an interesting effect. First the Rotor is spun in one direction by hand and the two front Stator
magnets rotate the opposite way as you would expect. Second he then spins the rear Stator magnet the same direction as the
Rotor is spinning and does this until it gets in Sync Third now it is in sync the units speeds up on it's own to over 1000RPM Fourth the two front Stator magnets are stopped and then spins upto
over 4000RPM.
The two short poles of aluminium either side of the rear
Stator magnet are used as dampners to keep the Rotor at a steady speed but also
to help the balance while spinning the Rotor up.
