Overview

After much feedback from people I have now opted to re-design the Pulse controller in Modular form.
What this basically means is that you have a main Board that handles the communications and then individual module boards that have one Fet output for the coil and one Opto Sensor input. The design allows for 8 module boards to be added.
Each module has a dedicated Pic Processor onboard that can monitor all Opto inputs from other module boards. Also with the dedicated Pic Chip, this now means that each Coil output has dedicated timing.
On each module there are two Variable Pots that control the Trigger delay and Pulse Width of the coil output. You can of course still download static timings via the windows software.
Last but not least on the module boards we have added a nice chunky Heatsink.

The Main board is for power input and communications back to the PC via the serial port. This board also has a Pic Processor that has two main roles, the first role is to download the configuration to each module Pic Processor and the second is to also monitor all Opto inputs and feed this back to the PC. This can be used for Rev Counters, graph plotting etc etc.

Below is the prototype of the Main Board and one Module attached, as you can see you simply plug the extra modules in as you need them.
