Pulse Motor PCB

Find below PCB V3 draft.

18/03/2007 After building the PCB and testing this weekend I had to make a few changes, Version 3 now shown below

I will post links here where you can download Hi-Res images of the PCB and Print them out onto acitate. We recommend viewing and printing these in Adobe Photoshop as the Scale will come out correct when printing.

STEP1

I exported the Gerber files from Protel to give me a Drill File, this way I can let the CNC drill out the holes.

STEP2

Next peel off the Black protective layer and tape the board to a flat surface.

STEP3

Print out the PCB layout and align with the pre-drilled holes, Tape in place.

STEP4

Pop in the UV light box for 10 minutes.

STEP5

After many years of measuring my caustic soda and trying many other Resist stripping solvents, I now use the The Seno Applicators.
These are excellent and worth ago. Below I am using the SN120 SENO RESIST STRIP from http://www.rapidonline.com Part number 34-0065

STEP6

Now pop it in some ferric chloride etchant until all the copper is gone, accept the tracks hopefully!

STEP7

The CNC machine drilled all the holes at 0.8mm, so I then used a 1mm drill and a 3mm drill to open up the bigger holes where needed.

STEP8

Start to populate the PCB first with the Wire links.

STEP9

Then solder in the resistors.

STEP10

Then populate as you feel is right depending on height of components. Remember to progam the Pic 16F876 Chip with the bootloader before popping it in.

STEP11

The finished PCB fully populated and a couple of Opto Switches attached.
