Disk Seven

New 200MM spiral Disk aligned to 0.01mm accuracy, is my next disk to be milled.

I have laid up the Artwork and created the G-code ready for milling, ordered a new bunch of magnets and await delivery!.
Straight away as most of you can see we are going to hit the sticky point, but this time I want to use the Rig with the arm (further
up the page) to clear the sticky point via a coil arrangement and see if I can produce enough power to move the coil and have some
left over then I will be happy!

Well I have now milled out the next wheel as you can see above, I have added a extra slot to close the loop.
I am now waiting for 30 new 3/4 * 3/4 * 1/8 magnets to arrive (As used in Disk6) so I can use a vice again to gently squeeze them into their slots.
The PlexiGlass is 8mm and I have made the slots 4mm deep.
With this layout I am hoping to get the torque up a bit, but will be trying various methods to get past the obvious sticky spot/point.
This will electronic arrangements this time around to see if I can get more output than input.

The Magnets arrived and took a few hours to gently vice each one up, one by one.
Must admit the power of these magnets is pretty amazing, When placed on the Rig and the force of the magnet arm is applied it takes off  very rapid and especially when the sticky point is hit you feel a kick that is very strong.
I am not convinced this is the optimum layout yet, as the magnets maybe on a slant would give it a bit more clout and my next wheel will try that out, but for now I am happy to go with this and next is to experiment more with getting over the Sticky point.

Sorry I am not posting the results of my experiments as this would take too much time.
But when I have something I can shout about and that works 100%, then be assured I will post an update.
For now this is just a Blog as such of what I am working on.
